There is a configure test for -fexceptions. This option was added in GCC 2.8, so the test is obsolete - and indeed plenty of code is using -fexceptions directly. This patch removes the configure test and makes all uses of $(exceptions) use -fexceptions directly. Tested for x86_64 and x86 (testsuite, and that installed shared libraries are unchanged by the patch). * configure.ac (libc_cv_gcc_exceptions): Remove configure test. * configure: Regenerated. * sysdeps/arm/configure.ac (libc_cv_gcc_exceptions): Do not set variable.
